Financial Aid

The FAFSA®, Step by Step

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the most important application in the college financial aid process, as it’s required by every college and university in the country. If you’re completing the FAFSA, be prepared to answer questions about family demographics, household details, and the income and assets of the student and parents.

We’ve put together a set of slides to walk you through the FAFSA. You’ll find out helpful information about completing the application, as well as screenshots of each section. Navigating the presentation is easy — simply use the left and right arrows at the bottom of the slides to get through the content. If you’re interested in seeing it big screen, use the 2-way diagonal arrows to adjust the size, then navigate the presentation by using the arrows on your keyboard.

If you have questions about the FAFSA, or any other part of the financial aid process, reach out to us at MEFA. We’re ready to help you. Call us at (800) 449-MEFA (6332) or email us at info@mefa.org.
