These Scholarships Can Help Pay for Grad School

To ease the burden, we’ve pulled together some scholarships designated for grad school students. Peruse the list and make sure to apply to all relevant scholarships on time. Judith McManus Price Scholarship


Are you pursuing a career as a practicing planner in the public sector (such as urban or regional planning)? This scholarship honors the memory of Judith McManus Price by awarding funds to a female or minority student studying to enter the field.

Details: Complete and submit the application, which includes a two-page personal statement, as well as two letters of recommendation, transcript(s), a resume, and the American Planning Association Financial Aid Application

Eligibility: Women or minority students enrolled or planning to enroll in an approved Planning Accreditation Board (PAB) planning program

Prize: $2,000-$5,000

GradSchools.com MBA Scholarship


Pursuing an MBA? Explain your degree goals in a short essay for a chance to win this scholarship.

Details: Complete the online entry form and submit a 250-word (or less) essay explaining what goals you hope to achieve through an MBA program

Eligibility: Must be planning to enroll in a full-time or part-time MBA program by August 31, 2018

Prize: $1,000

Crust the GRE Scholarship Program


If you need to take the GRE for your grad school application, this one’s for you. The contest prize covers the test cost and prep class.

Details: Complete the online application including the submission of a 500-1,000-word statement explaining why you decided to pursue an advanced degree for your career

Eligibility: Seniors in college or recent grads with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Prize: $160 GRE fee reimbursement and GRE review course ($399 value)

Taliesin Nexus MFA Scholarship Program


If you’re entering an MFA program in the fall, apply for this scholarship to help support your artistic endeavors.

Details: Complete the online application including the submission of two essays, your resume, and a written or video creative sample

Eligibility: Individuals with a background or degree in writing or filmmaking and admitted to an MFA program

Prize: Up to $4,000 and acceptance into the Calliope Authors Workshop or Apollo Workshop

Deadline: July 31, 2017

Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation Scholarship


Both merit and financial assistance scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated community service and involvement.

Details: Submit the online application, a resume, documentation of a current project or research, three letters of recommendation, an official transcript, and the Financial Need Analysis Form if applying for a Financial Assistance Scholarship

Eligibility: Full-time students (including those in online programs) attending a graduate program this fall

Prize: $750-$2,500

Deadline: August 15, 2017
