Scholarships include the Chris Jackson Computer Science Education Scholarship, Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship, BHW Women in STEM Academic Scholarship, SWE Scholarship, AFCEA STEM Teacher Graduate Scholarship, and AFCEA STEM Major Scholarship for Undergraduate Students.

If you're a student studying a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) field, or know one who is, we have a list of opportunities that may peak your interest. The 11 scholarships below are dedicated for STEM students, and each one offers a winning prize that can help pay for college costs. Chris Jackson Computer Science Education Scholarship

How to Apply: Write an essay between 300 and 500 words on how you became interested in pursuing a computer science degree, what your goal or dream job is, and why you feel you are the best candidate to receive this scholarship
Eligibility: Open to undergraduate students who are pursuing a computer science degree
Prize: $5,000

Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship

How to Apply: Submit an application including transcripts, tax documents, and one recommendation
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen studying engineering or computer science at a 4-year college or university with at least a 2.5 GPA
Prize: $10,000 awarded to 200 recipients

BHW Women in STEM Academic Scholarship

How to Apply: Write an essay between 500 and 800 words on either your favorite mobile or web-based app or a time an app played a significant role in improving your day.
Eligibility: Women who are pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree and are majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics during the 2021 school year
Prize: $3,000

SWE Scholarship

How to Apply: Submit an application including recommendations from a faculty reference and a personal reference.
Eligibility: Women entering their freshmen year of college pursuing a career in a STEM field
Prize: Between $1,000 and $16,000 (some scholarships are also renewable)

AFCEA STEM Teacher Graduate Scholarship

How to Apply: Submit an application, including a resume and letter of recommendation, and write two short essays based on (1) how your academic and career goals align to the mission of AFCEA Educational Foundation and (2) your teaching philosophy
Eligibility: Must be a graduate-level candidate in at least your second semester and taking at least two semester-equivalent courses per term at an accredited college or university in the United States and majoring in education for the purpose of teaching STEM subjects in a U.S. school in grades K-12 with at least a 3.5 GPA
Prize: $2,500

AFCEA STEM Major Scholarship for Undergraduate Students

How to Apply: Submit one application to be considered for all four AFCEA STEM Major scholarship opportunities for which you are qualified: STEM Major Scholarship, Undergraduate Diversity Scholarship, Cyber Security Scholarship, and Student Member Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen enrolled as a sophomore or junior full time in a four-year college or university with at least a 3.0 GPA majoring in a STEM field
Prize: Between $2,500 and $5,000

AISES Intel Growing the Legacy Scholarship

How to Apply: Submit an application, including a resume and letter of recommendation, and write five short essays based on the prompts and questions.
Eligibility: Must be a full-time student studying one of the eligible degrees including computer science, computer engineering, and electrical engineering and must be an enrolled member of a recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native Village, or a Native Hawaiian or a decedent from a Native Hawaiian, or a Pacific Islander or a decedent from a Pacific Islander, or an Indigenous person of Canada; must be an AISES member and have at least a 3.0 GPA
Prize: $5,000 for undergraduate students and $10,000 for graduate students

PixelPlex Bi-Annual STEM Scholarship

How to Apply: Write an essay of at least 1,200 words on one of the essay topics: blockchain, artificial intelligence, internet of things, or virtual reality
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a field of study related to science, technology, engineering, math, economics, or business at a college or university
Prize: $2,000

Solar Scholarship

How to Apply: Write an essay between 500 and 1,000 words on what excites you most about the future of solar
Eligibility: Must be a full-time student at an accredited institute of higher education with at least a 3.2 GPA
Prize: $1,000

Veteran Car Donations Annual Scholarship

How to Apply: Submit a college transcript and a complete application, which includes responding to the prompt, "Tell us about yourself and why we should pick you"
Eligibility:  Open to students majoring in a STEM field and attending an accredited college or university

Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship

How to Apply: Write an essay between 500 and 1,000 words on how you envision using your interests, skills, and career in technology to make the world a better place
Eligibility: Open to women at any educational level and within any field of study who intend to enter a technical or non-technical career that leverages technology to make the world a better place
Prize: $500
