Hearing from the Financial Aid Office

This lesson will provide the opportunity to hear from practicing financial aid professionals from different types of institutions about a variety of topics, including best practices in applying for financial aid, the importance of deadlines, and financial factors to consider when making the college decision. Counselors will be able to use this valuable insight when working with students and families. This lesson includes a webinar with panelists Ebony Marsala from Northeastern University, William Smith from Stonehill College, Alcira Zadroga from Fitchburg State University, Aurelio Ramirez from MassArt, and Iris Godes from Dean College.

  • Describe the major decision points associated with offering financial aid
  • Discuss with students how various schools approach financial aid differently
