Word of the Day Wednesday: MEFA Customer Service

Each Wednesday, MEFA will feature a Word of the Day where we’ll highlight a word (or sometimes a phrase) related to the college planning process. This month, we’re focusing on vocabulary related to MEFA resources for families.

Today’s Word of the Day is MEFA Customer Service.

At MEFA, we are always energized by talking to families about their journey towards college and the planning involved along the way. We take pride in treating you – our customer – as a priority, and you will hear that in our voice, in how we greet you, and in the information we share with you whether that be via telephone, email, the web, or in person. We know there isn't just one definition for customer service, but no matter how we communicate with you, we always strive to put you first and help you with your progress as your family plans for college. We invite you to take advantage of the many ways to reach us.

Why Is This Important to You?

As you know, MEFA is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization that has been around for over 30 years. Our goal is to help make higher education more affordable and accessible for Massachusetts students and families, as well as those families coming to college in Massachusetts from elsewhere. Everything we do supports this mission, and that includes our knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful staff members available to support you.

We encourage you to take advantage of the many MEFA team members who are eager to help you on your journey as you plan for college.

  • Call us anytime from 9am until 5pm Eastern Standard Time at (800) 449-MEFA (6332). You’ll speak directly with one of our experts who can answer your questions and provide additional information on any topic related to college planning.

  • You can email us anytime at info@mefa.org. One of our team members will get back to you within 24 hours with the information and resources you need.

  • Like us and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, where you can ask us questions and also see the questions from others. We post our answers as well as additional information and resources there regularly.

  • Visit our website, which provides key guidance on all steps of college planning and includes calculators, timelines, and videos, as well as our News section, where we publish helpful articles on a wide array of college planning topics.
