Our list of scholarships below provides students of all interests and skills the opportunity to win money within the next few months. Requirements to apply vary per contest, and include a poem, essay, and piece of artwork. Share this list with any students you know enrolled in college this fall (or headed there sometime soon).

O Captain, My Captain Scholarship Slam

If you’re a gifted writer, an original poem could win you $1,000.

Details: Write a poem thanking the person or thing that has had the greatest influence or impact on your life

Eligibility: Open to anyone 25 years of age or younger who is attending high school or college in the U.S.

Award: $1,000

Deadline: October 25th

Apply: Scholarship

Those who have creative ideas about education and multimedia should enter this essay-based contest.

Details: Write a one-page essay describing your ideas for using multimedia for presentations in K-12 classrooms to help students better retain knowledge

Eligibility: Applicants must be 14 years of age or older, currently in high school or college with a minimum 3.0 GPA

Award: $500

Deadline: October 31st


Future Designer Scholarship

Love art? Create a holiday card for a chance to win this contest.

Details: Design a greeting card related to December holidays and seasonal greetings. Original photographs, computer graphics, or any 2-dimensional art medium may be used.

Eligibility: Must be at least 17 years old and accepted to or enrolled in a college

Award: $2,500

Deadline: November 1st


HubShout Internet Marketing Scholarship

No essay required here. To apply for this scholarship, students must simply share their career goals. Details: Students must complete an online application and explain their career goals and activities that demonstrate a passion for digital marketing

Eligibility: Open to students who have completed at least one year of college with a least a 3.0 GPA

Award: $1,000

Deadline: November 1st


Ivey Engineering Inc. Scholarship

Future engineers could win $1,000 by submitting the winning essay for this contest.

Details: Submit an essay of 800-1,000 words on one of three provided topics related to building design and energy efficiency

Eligibility: Open to any students who are seniors in high school or enrolled in a college or university in the U.S. or Canada

Award: $1,000

Deadline: November 1st
