And since we’re coming up on the end of the year, we’ve pulled together five specific scholarship opportunities with deadlines in December. Whether you’re interested in medicine, keeping the public safe, or fighting hunger, you’ll likely find a scholarship contest below fit for you.

Generation Google Scholarship

For students interested in computer science.

Details: Complete the application and include a PDF of your resume, current transcript, and responses to the short answer questions.

Eligibility: Open to students enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate program in a computer science, computer engineering, or related field at an accredited university in the U.S. or Canada for the 2020-21 academic year

Prize: $10,000

Deadline: December 5, 2019


Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship

For students fighting hunger

Details: Must complete the full online application, which includes details of volunteer service activity, and a creative response to the question, “If you win a $5,000 scholarship and a $5,000 grant, how will you use the $5,000 grant to further the fight against hunger?”

Eligibility: Must be age 5-25, a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S., enrolled in an accredited educational institution, and active in the community performing unpaid volunteer services impacting hunger.

Prize: $5,000

Deadline: December 5, 2019


AvaCare Medical Scholarship

For students studying medicine

Details: Submit an essay, video, or image that conveys an act of kindness that inspired you.

Eligibility: Open to current high school seniors and college students who have at least a 3.0 GPA, are U.S. citizens and holders of an Alien Registration Card, and are pursuing a degree in a medical field. Preference will be given to students with a medical disability.

Prize: $1,000

Deadline: December 15, 2019


National Debt Relief Scholarship

For students with an idea for student loan debt

Details: Create a video, infographic, or essay that explains your unique solution to solving the high amount of student loan debt. Include a cover letter explaining how you plan to use the scholarship winnings.

Eligibility: Open to current undergraduate and graduate college students and graduating high school seniors with at least a GPA of 3.0 and plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field

Prize: 5 scholarships of $1,000 each

Deadline: December 31, 2019


Getting Real About Distracted Driving Scholarship

For students who want to keep us safe

Details: Create an advertisement that focuses on the dangers of distracted driving. Ads in any form are accepted, including PSAs, commercials, music, billboards, etc.

Eligibility: Open to all students currently attending or planning to attend an accredited college or university

Prize: $1,000

Deadline: December 31, 2019
