About MEFA's annual art competition

 

 

Massachusetts students in grades 3-5 are invited to submit their artwork for MEFA's 2012 art competition to win money for college

 

MEFA’s 2012 College Savings Art Competition is now closed. To find out when you can submit entries for our next competition, join MEFA’s Community to receive updates as well as tips about saving and planning for college.

 

 

About the Art Competition

 

In the spirit of promoting arts education, MEFA — with support from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education — sponsors an annual College Savings Art Competition. Massachusetts students in grades K - 5th at all public, private, charter, and home-based schools are invited to submit a piece of artwork illustrating "What do I want to be when I graduate from college?"

 

 

 

How the College Savings Art Contest for Kids Works

 

Submit your student's entry to the College Savings Art Competition. Winning entries are awarded a monetary prize made payable to a U.Fund 529 College Savings Plan account. Prizes - including one first -, second -, and third - prize winner from grades K-1, 2-3, and 4-5 - will be selected on or about March 31, 2013 on the basis of originality, relevance of the art work to the topic "What do I want to be when I graduate from college?"

  • Three (3) first prizes: $5,000 
  • Three (3) second prizes: $2,000
  • Three (3) third prizes: $1,000

In the past years, MEFA's College Savings Art Competition has received nearly 20,000 entries awarding over $200,000 in U.Fund 529 College Savings Plan accounts.
