Paying for college may seem daunting, but there are many types of financial aid and financing options available to help every family afford higher education.  MEFA is happy to be your trusted advisor along your path to college enrollment.  For assistance navigating the financial aid process, sign up for free MEFA Counselor emails.

Over $177 billion of financial aid was awarded to undergraduate students in the 2010-2011 academic year from a variety of sources including the federal government, the state, colleges and universities, and businesses and organizations.

  • Explore federal financial aid programs – including grants, loans and work-study and tax credits and deductions
  • Learn about financial aid programs available to Massachusetts students including grants, scholarships and tuition waivers. Click here for an English or Spanish brochure that lists all of the grant programs and no-interest loan program offered by the Commonwealth
  • Search for thousands of national scholarships. Also make sure to contact your guidance counselor for information about local scholarship opportunities
