As a non-profit organization, MEFA takes an active role in giving back to the community, with a variety of initiatives to promote college access and raise awareness about the importance early college planning.
MEFA supports literacy events at public libraries across Massachusetts to get kids reading and help parents make reading an integral part of their children's education.

Financing College Calendar
Each year, MEFA sponsors an art competition for third, fourth, and fifth graders who create artwork based on the theme "What do I want to be when I graduate from college?" Winners receive money in a U.Fund college savings account.

MEFA provides free seminars for parents on early college planning, applying for admissions and financial aid, and understanding the college financing process. Expert speakers from MEFA are also available to speak on these topics at local and regional community meetings and events.
